Pretzel Logic
Grand Rapids based PRETZEL LOGIC was formed in the fall of 2003, known previously as Souper Stoopid. It's goal is to be the best working rock/funk cover band in the state of Michigan. PRETZEL LOGIC plays a diverse spectrum of artists from the 60's,70's and 80's. Everything from Frank Zappa, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder to Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and AC/DC. One hit wonders, TV theme songs and even a little country. And LOTS of Steely Dan ( where the name PRETZEL LOGIC originates ). PRETZEL LOGIC does it all! The members are all seasoned pros and were hand picked for their musicianship. The band likes to have fun and doesn't take itself too seriously, but prides itself on delivering great music and a good time.
Drummer/lead vocalist Scott Stefanski was a member of former RCA recording act Papa Vegas and has also done sessions with Brian VanderArk and Bob Guiney (ABC's The Bachelor). He also plays with Jr. Valentine and an original project, Miles To Mars. Bassist/lead vocalist John Connors was a longtime member of Michigan favorite Troll For Trout and has recorded three albums with them. He was also involved in projects with Nectar, Liquid Sun, The Verve Pipe and, currently, Miles To Mars. Lead guitarist Mark Turner was a founding member of Wordenhaus and has been involved in projects with elephint, The David Molinari Band and Groove Merchant. Newest member, keyboardist John Neil, is still active with Troll For Trout and has recorded original electronic/industrial music under the name Bacchus Jihad. John is a graduate of the Berklee School Of Music.
The band plays at Billy's Lounge in Eastown and The Black Rose on a regular basis. They have also performed for the South Haven Yacht Club, The Bistro Bella Vita (during the 2004 and 2005 festival weekends), The Rosebud and Kirby Grill in Grand Haven, Founders Brewery, Flanagans in downtown Grand Rapids and Spectrum Health's Family Day at 5th/3rd Ballpark. In December 2004, Souper Stoopid organized a benefit for Toys For Tots at Billy's Lounge. In February 2005 they performed in "I Want To Hold Your Hand", an all Beatles show with The Grand Rapids Ballet. Upcoming gigs may be found on the website.
